Children Pay on Paris Metro?

Do children have to pay on Paris Metro? Also, what are my best (inexpensive) options on getting from CDG to my hotel in Paris? Thanks.

I'm looking for the children item...

CDG choices are taxi, shuttle, RER train, Roissybus shuttle (specific drop off points), Air France shuttle (specific drop off points).

Thanks. If children have to pay for the trains, (there are two children and two adults), maybe it would just be cost effective to take a taxi into Paris.

Part of your decision may depend on how much luggage you have, do you want to go economical or not, do you feel comfortable taking new means of transport...

The RBus and AF shuttle will drop you off at Metro locations in central Paris, so you could either take a taxi from there or the Metro.

Time of day might also guide your decision. RER will get you into town without any delays. Once again, the RER will intersect with Metro lines, so you can either then hop on Metro or exit and walk/cab

Children under the age of 4 are free on the metro. Children between 4 and 10 have a 50% discount.

Children under 4 ride free. Children 4-11 pay half price.

Best does not = inexpensive. Best is a taxi IMO. No way I'll ever schlep through the RER and metro with kids and luggage again. Once was enough. Others will have different opinions.

The children are 5 and 8. We are staying in the 7e. With luggage and cost, maybe a taxi is best. What do you think?

Take a taxi. It's really the best bet with kids. You do not want to be dragging luggage through the RER and transferring, which you will need to do to get to the 7th. If you are staying near the Invalides, the Air France buses from CDG will drop you off there, but I believe it is about 13 euros pp (may be less for kids, although I don't know). For that price, you can take a taxi and get to your front door. If you are coming from the US, your kids will be tired and cranky...take the cab. You won't save much money doing any other method anyway. Just my opinion. I live in the 7th with 2 kids and we always take a cab.

Thanks so much to all. Pariskid, do you have any other suggestions? Cheap breakfast, things kid would enjoy, etc?
