Cheapest and best way to travel from Frankfurt-Cologne-Heidelberg-Frankfurt

Jump to last reply

I and my friends, totally 5 pax are planning to travel in Germany, after finish working in NURNBERG on Feb 5. We will fly from NRB to FF on that date with arrival time at 10.30 and fly back from FF to our country on Feb 8 at 20.55; therefore, we will have around 3.5 days to travel around FF and plan the route as below.
Frankfurt => Cologne (stay 2 nigths) => Heidelberg (stay 1 night) => Frankfurt
Could you pls advise the cheapest and best way to travel as route above? What kinds of rail pass should we buy? Due to winter season, we are not sure if it is difficult to travel per this route or not because this is also our first time to travel to Cologne and HDB. We will skip FF. Just spend time only in Cologne and HDB. Any other suggestion, pls feel free to share... Thanks in advance for your help.
