Hello!,
We are going to be in Europe for two weeks. Most of the time we will be in France and Italy. We would like to have a cell phone service if possible with data plan. Any suggestions on what can we use? We will have phone service at places we stay...so we dont care much about the phone service, but are mainly looking for cheap data plans as my husband needs it for work..
Thanks
Cheap cell phone service/data plan for Europe Trip?

Voice service is relatively inexpensive using providers such as Lebara:
www.lebara.fr
However, data is different. There are few plans available without a long term commitment and those are not cheap:

Thanks Sarastro. This is really helpful.
For the data plan, even if we can get something on the mobile phone, that should suffice. It will be mainly to keep checking emails to see if anything urgent needs to be responded to..
Also what kind of phones work in Europe? Can the prepaid sim card you get be used on any phones in France and Italy?
For voice, you need an unlocked gsm phone with the 900 and 1800 mhz frequencies.
Hello,
Did you take your trip yet? If so, what did you decide to do for your data requirements?
I have a similar trip, and I am in the same situation.... (I need cheap pre-paid voice and data for a few weeks in France.)
Thanks!
