Cheap accommodation Ireland
Hi I am going to live and work in Belfast but will need cheap accommodation for a week or so, a step up from backpacking just somewhere to rest my head.
Thanks Grace

I'd say you definitely want to go with a hostel. My daughter did an internship in Galway last year and stayed in a hostel there while she was looking for housing. Not only was it economical, she met people she wound up staying in contact with her whole four months in Galway.
Unfortunately, I can't recommend one in Belfast. Hope someone else here can. And, meanwhile, I'll talk to my daughter to see how she found out about hostels ( I know she stayed in a couple of others while traveling) while she was there.

Grace, if you think a hostel may be what you're looking for, my daughter suggested that you google "hostels". She said there are a number of international hostel websites through which you should be able to find something in Belfast.
Good luck!

You don't mention when you will be needing accommodation in Belfast.
If it is after the school year ends, check out the rooms at Queen's University dorms. You can get a very simple single room there, rates include a full hot breakfast daily in their cafeteria and you have access to self-service laundry facilities and a guest kitchen where you can prepare very simple, basic meals or store food in the fridge. An internet cafe is a few blocks away.
The dorms are about a 20 minute walk from the Belfast bus depot in the center of town.

If we stick with the official names of the states, The island of Ireland includes both Ireland and Northern Ireland.
[If any Americans can't get their heads around that, then they can have it explained to them by denizens of East Virginia.]
