can you make up your own mind about ANYTHING
No nothing, that's why I need you, because I am helpless, just answer the question! Anyways I've already bought my tickets, I just want to know the differnece between the two, because maybe next time I'll switch, airports do make a difference. I'd fly into Chicago O'hare over Midway any day!
Travis: Orly is about 14 kms out (south) whereas CDG is some 26 kms (north. If you intend to stay in the southern part of the city (like Montparnasse or even in the 6th around Luxembourg Gardens) Orly is much more convenient. Taxi 15-20 min. depending on traffic, of course. Basically, Orly is smaller. There are two terminals Orly-Sud and Orly-Ouest.
We always take an Air France flight landing in Orly, but then, we live in Europe.
However, most overseas carrier go to CDG, I think.
If you're flying from here (not from another European country) there's no choice. You'll come into CDG. From another European country and then driving to some area of France, if there is a choice I would choose Orly if you're heading south, CDG if you're heading north. To Paris, I would choose Orly - it's closer. For more Paris information e-mail me: FMinParis@aol.com
I've flown in and out of Orly to Miami several times on American Airlines. Unfortunately they have now switched to CDG -- much less convenient. Always staying in the 6th, I could take a taxi in a half hour or less for something like $20 US. Now both the time and cost are at least doubled. Oh well, I guess that's progress.
WAS AT CDG 4/08-FOUND IT CONFUSED AND LITERLY FALLING APART.NOT CONFUSING BUT CONFUSED-INFOR MATION NOT ALWAYS AVAILABLE BATHROOMS LOCKED AND LINES,LINES,SNAKING EVERYWHERE-BE CURIOUS/ASK QUESTIONS-JUST DON'T BE LIKE YOUR DETRATOR ON THIS QUESTION.
