RER
Taxi
The best way is taxi. Taxi is also the least complicated and form baggage claim to your hotel, the fastest. If you are part of a larger group, it might also be the cheapest.
Expect to pay 50 to 55 euros.
WHERE in the 5th? I always recommend taxi EXCEPT when the hotel is just yards away from the RER B line. So if you have the name of the hotel or the address of the apartment, we can give you a better of idea of your best options.
It looks like it will be about a 75 minute ride?
The apartment is on the rue de Bièvre.
30 to 40 minutes, depending on time of day and traffic.
Arone--What is the address on rue de Bievre? For example, the restaurant Rue de Bièvre (30, Rue de Bièvre, 75005 Paris) is only 8 minutes walk from the St. Michel stop.
You can play with the official Paris transport journey planner: http://www.ratp.fr/itineraires/en/ratp/recherche-avanceen
to see your options if you like. I used "Aeroport Charles De Gaulle 1 (RER), Tremblay-en-France" as the starting point.
But again, I am TOTALLY for paying for a taxi, too. There are a lot of other ways to save money in Paris. Getting to your apartment without hassle is certainly worth a few Euro.

The OP did not ask about the least expensive way nor mention money at all. He/she asked for the best way.
The question is meaningless and unanswerable as stated without any other info. What is "best" varies by a person's abilities, for one thing, what they are carrying, any other people with them, as well as what they want to spend on it and if they have unusual requirements (I've seen some people care about the time it takes, which I think is meaningless upon arrival for a vacation, as it is such a trivial difference). Referring to an entire arrondisement as the destination also doesn't make it answerable, I don't know if people think arrondisements are just a few blocks square or what.
If you want cheapest and are relatively unemcumbered, take the RER and then switch to metro, that is very near the Maubert metro stop.
literally, I suppose the "best" would be a private limo, but usually that isn't what people really mean when they say best.
