Changing trains in Zurich

My family of four plans to take the train from Geneva to Zurich where we will then change trains and continue on to Konstanz, Germany. We don't have our tickets booked yet, but I anticipate we will take a train that arrives in Zurich at 11:28am on platform 11. The train I'd then like to board for Konstanz leaves at 11:37am on platform 13. Will we have time to make that connection in 9 minutes? We will have some luggage with us, but that should not slow us down too much. What happens if we book tickets for that 2nd leg and then we miss that train? Will we be able to just take the next available train to Kontanz?
