We will be leaving for Ireland on June 13th. I want to be able to stay in touch with a daughter that will remain at home. I will most likely need to at least have text messages daily from her and an occasional call. I can get an Unlimited International Text and Message from T Mobile for her for $10.00 for the month, but if I look at a text it will be .20 and sending a text will be .50. Answering the phone will be 1.99 minute. Is there a more reasonable easy solution?

Check this out, this is what I'm using: http://www.globalsimcard.co.uk/index.php
You'll need an unlocked phone and I'm not sure if they can send you the SIM card before June 13.
Or buy a local SIM in Ireland with cheap texting and international calls. There should be plenty.
Cheapest network to keep in contact with the US @ 2cent/min

We will be in Ireland for only 10 days. I spoke with T Mobile and they are sending me an unlock code. Are there SIm cards that you can purchase in Ireland that have like 60 minutes on them, etc?
Tony2phones - Looks like very reasonable rates. Are Tesco stores easy to find?
A Tesco sim comes free when you purchase €10 credit and will probably more than cover your 10days.
There are several stores all over Ireland http://www.tesco.ie/storeLocator/
We are going to be in Dublin the first part of our trip and it looks like there are a lot located in Dublin. We should be set. Thanks again
I am pretty sure there is a store in Temple bar from post's on other forums.
