Celebrating anniversary in Prague – where would you have dinner?

We didn’t necessarily plan it this way, but we’ll be in Prague for our anniversary in May. What are the stand-out restaurants we should consider for dinner? Our priorities are great food and drink, comfortable service, perhaps outdoor dining with a great view or captivating interior design. Czech cuisine or locally sourced ingredients would be a plus. We are not interested in anything too out there, such as multi-course meals where each is a bite or a whiff.

All suggestions are welcomed, and thanks in advance!

I recommend Hergetova Cihelna, stylish Czech/continental, eclectic menu, excellent service. Stunning setting overlooking the Charles Bridge (blankets provided if chilly). Chosen by our friends who are locals. The perfect place for a celebrations.

" great food" and Czech cuisine do not generally go together.

So good luck with that combination.

A very good place in the warmer months is Kogo in Slovansky Dum. It is one of the few places with a very nice outdoor seating area in the center of the city, in the courtyard of Slovansky Dum. Food is Italian/Croatian, extremely good.

An excellent small place unknown to tourists since it isn't in the center is Da Emanuel in the area called Dejvice, real Italian and very high quality. Taxi to get there, but it isn't any big deal.

We are in Prague now, and just had an amazing meal at Divinis tonight. Wonderful, food, large wine list, impeccable service and the prices are more than reasonable.

We liked dinner at our hotel, the Golden Well. The restaurant has a terrace with fabulous view overlooking the city (it's up by the cathedral). The restaurant is called RESTAURANT TERASA U ZLATÉ STUDNĚ and gets great reviews, I think.

We also enjoyed the Hergetova Cihena. Very good.

I just looked on TripAdvisor, and U Zlate STUDNĚ is number one. Yay. The view is an incredible one, no contest. We had breakfast there every morning.

Have a wonderful time in Prague, it's a beautiful city!
