CDG to Paris 6 people and luggage

We typically take a taxi into Paris after a long flight. However, this April there will be six of us to include two teenagers who I'm confident will be cranky. We have managed taxis easily with four people, but I don't recall a taxi service for six. Four of our travelers are "first timers" so I would prefer we travel together into the city. Any suggestions for a reliable shuttle or car service (BTW these girls should not take the RER after a long flight....they would drive everyone crazy...LOL). My ideal "vision" would be a driver meeting us with a sign, and then a van/mini bus to the apartment!

Proceed to the official taxi queue, curbside near the customs/baggage claim exit. Explain what you need. An appropriate sized taxi will be called up to take you into Paris.

The fare is typically 50€ to 55€ to which will be added 3€ for each of the 4th, 5th, and 6th passengers. Also expect a 1€ fee for each bag placed in the trunk (the first bag is at no charge). Overall, expect to pay somewhere around 70€ for 6 people, almost the same price as what 6 would pay for the train.

Here is a company you can email for information.

http://www.driverguidefrance.com/index.php

We used driverguidefrance.com last Dec. when we arrived at LeHavre port. 8 of us wanted to take a tour of Paris (2.5 hr. drive from the port) so I contacted Christophe and he customized an itinerary for us. We had a wonderful day in Paris w/ Chris and got to see everything on our wish list in the short time we had there. He is very knowledgeable and a wonderful driver as well. If you would like to coordinate any tours he can assist you with this as well. When we travel I like to know that I have a driver waiting for us and not have to find someone at the airport or cruise port. If you want to do any tours outside Paris he does this as well.

We use, and recommend, Victor Taxi (https://twitter.com/taxi_only4u). There is also Taxi G7 (www.taxisg7.com/).

There is no issue with getting a taxi for 6 plus luggage, and it's likely the cheapest option for you.

I think the two teenagers would be happy to check out the other passengers of their own age on the RER.

We use a private shuttle service, Shuttle-Inter, and have been very happy with them for several trips over many years. They do meet you with your name on a placard, assist with luggage to the waiting van. They were especially helpful during our most recent trip in Oct., '13; 5 seniors, two of whom with significant mobility issues. I am prepared for the onslaught of negative posts that will respond to my recommendation since there are some on here who do not like private shuttles. You asked about shuttles, and this is my excellent experience with S-I.

Hi grandmere, thanks for that link. I will not be one of the negative posters as I do like private shuttles! I posted the link for the tour guide we used but it is always nice to have other recommendations from those that have used a particular company for backups. We had a lovely day in Paris and I hope we can return there.

This is what these forums are all about - people helping people!

Happy New Year to all!

I have successfully used Shuttle Inter 3 times with no issues.

I have also priced out reserving a taxi with G7 and it usually comes out higher than waiting at the taxi stand.

We have also split our large party in to 2 taxi's. We speak to both drivers and let them know we are together and going to the same address.

We used Super Shuttle in April and couldn't have been happier with the service. We arrived at 7 am and were the only 2 psssengers on the very clean modern minivan.( Van accomodates up to 8 in a party, but might be tight, if there is a lot of luggage. Should be fine for 6). There was an agent at the airport to meet us and she promptly called the driver and introduced us before she left. The driver spoke excellent English and made a couple of calls for us on his cellphone, since mine did not want to cooperate . Having the fare (43 euro, including the VAT) prepaid was great, so all we needed to worry about was the tip. I would not hesitate to use them again.

I just checked their website and it appears they also have a non stop service for up to 8 people, where the first passenger pays 99 euro and the remaining passengers are free. That sounds like a very good deal. Worth checking out.

The choice to take a cab or a shuttle is yours. But if you choose the latter *do not* pay in advance!

seafox this is a timely question for me. We will be a party of 7 trying to get from Paris to CDG in June so I'm noting the different shuttle services. We usually just take the RER, easy enough from an apartment near Saint Michel but with a departure at 7am and three more than likely sleepy boys an RER ride could get ugly Deborah
