CDG to Opera
I am arriving in Paris early am, and need to get to Hotel du Sevres in the 6th arr. I would like to have an alternate to traveling by Metro - as my suitcase, although not huge, would be difficult to manage on the steps.
Is there any transportation that would not be too cumbersome or too expensive to use.
Thank you!

The Hotel de Sèvres is not near Opéra. You will not be saving a great deal by taking the Roissybus to Opéra and then a taxi to your hotel rather than simply taking a taxi from CDG but basically there are two options:
(1) taxi, about 55€
(2) RER B to St Michel, take the underground tunnel to Cluny/la Sorbonne M10 direction Boulogne, exit Vaneau - 9.50€.
Option 2 is the exact route I take every time I go to CDG, currently about twice a month. There are a few stairs at Cluny and a short run at Vaneau but no other option is anywhere near as cheap nor as efficient. You´ll still need to walk from Vaneau to your hotel which is ironically not on rue de Sèvers but rather on rue de l'Abbé Grégoire.

Taxi from CDG would be. 55 euros ONLY if there was no traffic .
On a " normal" day it could be much more.
I usually take Roissy to the Opera and taxi from there....I don't like dragging
luggage around.
(might cost you close to. 30 euros all together)

I live within easy walking distance of this hotel and have never paid more than 55€ for a taxi from CDG. I have paid less. Not to say paying more is impossible but it is unlikely.
Most of the early am flights at CDG are transatlantic. With the time required for disembarking a large aircraft, immigration, baggage claim, walking past customs, and making one´s way out to the taxi stands, most of the early rush hour traffic into Paris is past.
I shall agree that 10€ for the Roissybus and 20€ for a taxi towards Montparnasse (this hotel is not really far from there) is a reasonable cost estimate. However, taking a taxi directly to the hotel is not really all that much more and if Sophia12 is traveling as a pair, a direct taxi will cost about the same and it´s a lot easier.

I think it is unlikely, there would have to be a bad traffic jam. It can certainly happen, it did to me once and the fare was 60 euro to the Latin Qtr.
Of course you could take the AF bus to Montparnasse, that would be a lot closer to the hotel, and then take the metro to St Placides. Actually, going down to the metro at Montparnasse isn't difficult, I think there are escalators the entire way. (I know because I did that last summer, then took metro to my hotel and I remember thinking it was pretty easy at Montparnasse going down). Don't know about coming up at St Placide and then that's about a block to the hotel. I suppose it's a wash, actually, as the AF bus costs 17 euro, and then a taxi may not be pleased to go such a short distance.
But if you were going to take the metro, I'd do it from there, not from Opera, which would involve a transfer.
