Carry on luggage
we are searching for a carryon suitcase that actually measures small enough for the luggage templates.
We have found that the listed measurements do not in most cases include the wheels and handles.
Wondering if they are starting to measure the carryon luggage with the new checked baggage fees?
Delta and United are 22x14x9. and all the suitcases we found that were not over the 22 and the 9 were at least 14.5 or 15. if you include the handle or the framework around the wheels.
because we take camera equipment and some important medical stuff with us in the carry on it is imperative that we meet the guidelines and not have it checked.
we ended up using an old 17" rolling suitcase plus a small non wheel bag and managed. but would still like to find a slightly larger ROlling suitcase that works.
Anyone find a rolling suitcase that if you measure it, it really fits the guideslines???

Yes, the 21" Rick Steves rolling bag. My old 22" bag was an inch too big when measured with the wheels for a flight on Air France last summer, so I bought this bag. Worked great! It is very durable and I like the design as well.

Can't you simply squish the side with the handle 1/2 inch to fit it into the measuring thing?
As long as the rigid portion is within the measurement, you can squish the rest of a softside case enough to gain 1/2 inch if you're asked to measure it. A duffle will give you more leeway, but I've done it with regular softsided roller bags (usually it's the depth that tends to max out).

mms, It appears the bag has been remodeled since we bought ours.
I took a closer look at the pictures of the bag at the various online luggage dealers and the front foot rests are different, there is an extra pocket and it weighs more.
that is probably why yours is 22" and mine is slightly bigger!!!!
