Hello,

Does anybody know of a car service w/ car seat (16 month old baby) that we can use for transfers to and from airports and eurostar stations.

We are aware of alternate transportation options and have taken them in the past but want to be a little less hassle free after many hours of travel and with both luggage & baby gear.

Any reputable service should offer baby seats; for London, just check this board for car service suggestions b/c there are a lot.

yep - most every car service I've ever seen had the option of a car seat.

What is the baby going to sit on on the plane? Are you bringing some sort of seat?

Hi, We have not purchased an extra seat for the baby. We are going to buy something like this: http://www.amazon.com/Baby-BAir-Todd.../dp/B000058DQA or the baby will sleep in the bassinet provided by Lufthansa.

A 16mo is awfully old to not have a seat. Just IMO.

A 16mo should fit in a bassinet no problem. But the 'baby' won't be in the bassinet full time and that just seems pretty old/large to be a 'lap baby' for a transatlantic flight.

But maybe s/he is small for his age??

The Lufy bassinets are large, and the flight attendants will put clean linens in it for you when he or she sets it up. My DS was only 10 weeks old when we used the bassinets on Lufthansa, so I can't really comment about how well they will fit an 8 month-old. However, I have heard they have the biggest ones of any airline.

However, if you booked a United flight through Lufthansa, the bassinets are more akin to a duffel bag that sits on the floor or so I have heard. Make sure you know who is operating your flight.

For take-off, landing, and ground movement, you will have to put your DD in a belly belt when on a plane that says Lufthansa on the tail. If the plane is licensed to a US air carrier, the belly belts are banned.

We are not talking about an 8 month old, but a 16 month old.

That vest thing is useless as it needs to be fastened into a seat.. there is no guarantee there will be an empty seat next to you to use anyways( not like it used to be, planes are booked solid often now).

I always bought my kids seats as infants, its hard on everyone not to, but worse, its simply not very safe not too.. a plane doesn't have to crash for a 25 pound projectile to get hurt,, just a rough stop or sudden turbulence can sent the tot to the ceiling or squish him into seat in front of you..

Anyways, realize for some people its all about saving money on a plane ticket since under 2s are cheaper without a seat..

For Paris you can call and book a taxi company called G7 , they have English speaking operators and some of their taxis have carseats.. You can also use Shuttle - Inter.. they are a private car company ( I have used them twice) and they may provide car seats ( I am not sure as I have only used them with older child) .. both companies easy to google.

The car seat for the baby is not mandatory but it's recommended. For London I could recommend you 247 Airport Transfer, they offer transfers for good prices and they could also provide you with a cars seat for the baby.
