Car Service to FCO in Rome

Looking for a car service to take us to the airport from Rome. It's not until the end of May, but I tried Rome Cabs who werer recommended and they are booked much to my surprise. We need to leave at 7:00 am. Any recommendations? Thanks!

This past May we used http://romashuttle.com several time and they we excellent. They were recommended by roninrome.com. The cost for 2 from FCO to Roma is 45euro and worth every bit.

Buon viaggio,

rbciao - just to make sure, is Roma Shuttle a private transfer service, or a "shuttle" like I'd think of in the US that makes multiple stops en route?

I use www.romeshuttlelimousine.com . It's a private transfer service, although it has "shuttle" in the name. They wait for you in the international arrivals hall holding a card with your name on it.

Reliable services don't require payment in advance. They do take you credit card information as insurance.

jent103,

It is a limo service. We were met outside the frosted custom's doors at FCO by a driver holding a sign with our name on it. He took us directly to our b&b and we paid him 45€ when we arrived at our destination.

A month later a driver met us at the same b&b with a van because our neighbors met us and we traveled together. We spent the final two nights in Roma and we used Roma Shuttle again to transport the five of us to FCO. The cost was 60 €.

We used the same service one more time when we flew from Catania to FCO prior to flying home.

The company also provides a full list of transportation services.

I hope this helps.

Buon viaggio,

>>>Looking for a car service to take us to the airport from Rome. <<<

Rome Shuttle Limousine is usually the cheapest (private transfer, not a group shuttle)among the transfer services.

You can also take a taxi as they are a set fee of 48€ (4 people including luggage).

*** from- to Fiumicino Airport- Ostiense Station 45 euro
from- to Fiumicino Airport-Aurelian Walls 48 euro
from- to Fiumicino Airport- Tiburtina Station 55 euro
from- to Fiumicino Airport-Civitavecchia Harbor 120 euro
from- to Fiumicino Airport-Magliana Castle 30 euro
from- to Fiumicino Airport- New Rome Fair 25 euro
from- to Fiumicino Airport-Ciampino Airport 50 euro

All fares above-quoted are fixed by the City of Rome and they could be changed without advance notice. For more information, please check the City of Rome web site .

The baggage is included, for a maximum of four passengers. The cost for the service is the same also from Rome to Fiumicino airport.

The cars for the taxi service of the City of Rome are white and can be recognized by the sign "TAXI" on the car top and by the identifying licence number on the doors, on the back and inside the car.***

The train is 14€ and not subject to traffic delays. Sitbusshuttle is 5€ (a bus shuttle service, not private). There is also an airport shuttle (I think that's the name) that picks up multiple people at multiple locations (shared transfer). It's a bit cheaper than the private shuttles, but not a lot.

The shared airport shuttle (in case someone else turns this thread up in a search).

Sitbus.

Anyone staying in Trastevere can hop the local train (8€) to the airport. Departs every 15 minutes from Rome Trastevere station. Anyone staying in Piazza Venezia area can hop the tram (#8)there to the Trastevere station (1.50€).

I booked with Rome Shuttle Limousine today for a transfer from Rome's Monti neighborhood to FCO at 6 a.m. in May and was pleasantly surprised to receive a quote for 40 Euros. This was cheaper than I believe they advertise.

For those who have used them before, should I confirm with them again a day or two before our scheduled transfer?

I did not call and confirm my reservation with Rome Shuttle. They were outside waiting before the designated time. If you are concerned send them an email in advance.

I did send them an email two days before my pickup last year, because that is my personality. They had my reservation, no problems.

Thanks! I probably will just to be safe. Coming into the city, I'd be less concerned. Making the flight home, however, is a bigger deal to me.
