Car rental in Slovenia?
Hello - my husband and i are looking to rent a car in Slovenia in late Sept-early Oct. We are planning to travel around Slovenia, dip into Italy and to Croatia. Can you please make any reccomendations? Also, should we purchase supplimentary insurance of any kind?
Thanks,
Annie

I had done some looking for cars in Slovenia. I found an acceptable rate through Kemwel in Ljubljana either at the airport or down town. The other location was higher. When you rent the care make sure that you know what countries you can take into.
We are flying into Milan so we are renting a car there that we can take to Slovenia and Croatia.
Regarding insurance if you are using a credit card check with your credit card company. My Visa covers collision and theft.

We flew into Trieste, Italy and rented the car thru Autoeurope and the agency was Avis. Be sure they know you are travelling into Croatia and Slovenia, because the other car rentals we called, Novacarhire and traveltime would not allow it.

Hi
We rented a car through AutoEurope. We went to the Avis counter in the airport in Ljubilana and picked it up Make sure you tell them beforehand which countries you will be driving into. We usually take the car with insurance to minimize any problems. We have never had a problems with AutoEurop.

Hmmm...I'm surprised anyone had a bad experience with Economycarrentals. I booked them based on a rec from this board. They were several hundred dollars cheaper than Auto Europe (who we usually use) and we were very pleased. They brought the car to us.
