Car Rental: Athens to Cape Sounion

In order to capture the Temple of Poseidon at sunset the intent is to rent a car in Athens, taking advantage of the west coast route to Sounion, returning the vehicle at ATH subsequently using the metro or X95 back to the city center.

As one enters Sounion from the west on 91, where is the most convenient place to park? Are the directions to the Temple/car park well signed?

Upon the return to ATH are there any suggestions as to where to fill the tank as I am looking to avoid the prepaid fuel option.

Finally, can anyone see any red flags in this option? Getting out of Athens appears to be just going around a large block and then a main boulevard out of the city. Negotiating that, orientating myself to Sounion and returning the car without a hitch seem to be the only issues.
