car lease or hire

Jump to last reply

so here I am again seeking the advice from all you well travelled travellers!

I have a choice . . .

either car hire for one week france, train from perpignan to barcelona, ferry from Barcelona to Genoa and then pick up another car in italy for the week.

or

lease a car for the three weeks

Some background info: I am travelling with hubby and my two children 2 and 4. The cost of the lease is just short of $3000

Compact - CFADD6PR
3008 Select 2L GPSCielo Cuir Auto - a peugeot

I can't seem to find the cost of the train from perpignan to barcelona but from what I gather it might be cheaper to do the first option . .

What I am asking though is under the situation of being with the kids do you think the drive to Barcelona would be better? We are actually staying in Carcassonne before heading to Barcelona.

As always thank you in advance!
