Capri - La Minirva or Villa Brunella

We are planning a trip to Italy next June and will spend a few nights on Capri - i have been checking out accommodations and have narrowed it down to two - La Minirva or Villa Brunella - which to choose? Their prices seem to be within reason - compared to some of the other nice spots - We are with 11 year old if that makes choice any different. Can you help me out?

I have the same question, so I am topping this to see if it gets a response.

We (2 middle-aged couples) stayed at La Minerva in 2005 for a couple of nights and loved it. We had rooms with large terraces/patios overlooking the Faraglione with huge bathrooms that looked out over the same view. The rooms were beautifully decorated (Spartan Mediterranean?) and spacious. The hotel is a few "blocks" from the main piazza but certainly close enough to shops, restaurants, and gelato to be just right. DW just told me she thought it was beautiful!

I remember looking at both those properties on a trip to Capri a few years back and ended up staying somewhere else with our group of 4 which included our son who was maybe 15 or so at the time. Both seemed lovely, but for some reason -- can't remember if the room wasn't large enough or it cost too much, or there wasn't a pool, but we ended up staying somewhere else. That had a pool -- but the pool broke.

Long story short, we got to swim free at the Best Western Syrene and if we went back to Capri (I hope, I hope!) that's where we'll stay. Kid friendly and the lemon grove and pool was outstanding! They even had a portal at the side of the pool, so you could take photos of our kid swimming under water!

And very close to the main square and the wonderful Gelato place.

So I'm throwing that property up to you as an alternative.
