Can anyone recommend a hotel or B&B in central Canterbury? I won't have a car, so want to stay as central as possible.
I have looked at Trip Advisor, but none of the reviews are overly positive.
Thanks -

Since Caterbury is not that big any hotel would be fairly close to teh centre. One is Abode, in the main street not far from the Cathsdral, I've never stayed there but if the fact that it was renovated withoin the last three years is anything to go by it should be OK. There is another hotel, I think it is called the Caterbury Lodge just by the main entrance to the Cathedral, you may well bet woken by the sound of the bells being rung but again it is central. Going out past the West Gate there is, I think it is called The Pilgrim's Hotel, again I cannot comment on the standards. When are you considering visiting and what is your price bracket. This may infuence your choice.
The reviews for Abode and Pilgram's aren't really positive on Tripadvisor, hence my questions. Price isn't an issue, am just interested in Fodorites comments on experience and location.
Any other suggestions/comments?
Thanks,
