Cannes to Nice Train schedule?
We will be sailing to Cannes/Monte Carlo in September. Since we are only there for the day, is there a train from Cannes that will take you to Nice? Or a bus? How do I find out there schedules? Any information is appreciated. Thanks.

Trains are very frequent between Cannes and Nice (every 20 minutes or so).
Timetable at www.sncf.com
A bus will take much longer because of traffic.

the Cote d'Azur metro as some call it is a commuter train (no seat reservations even possible) that trundles at least hourly up and down the Riviera from St Raphael to Ventimiglia, Italy's border station, including a stop in a newish station deep inside the cliff at Monte Carlo/Monaco. flat fare just buy tickets from machines or ticket windows and cancel the tickets yourself in composteurs - cancelling machines at entrance to platforms - if not cancelled you may be consider to have been riding without a valid ticket as some trains do not have conductors to check and the honor system is used with spot check to catch scofflaws. Trains are cheap.

Just read that No.200 bus Nice - Cannes run on a not very scenic route. I have not done this myself. The train ride I did once had a better view I think. On the contrary, Nice - Monaco - Menton, the view from the train is not bad but the bus (No.100) has a better, more constant sea view ( but takes longer also yes).

I disagree - the train hugs the coast the whole way - buses take roads very high up so it depends on what type of coastal view you want - seaside as with the train or bird's eye like with the bus - there are no roads right along the coast from Nice to Monaco - just that love footpath from Cap d'Ail train station to Monaco.
In fact IMO the Nice to Menton train ride is one of the most very scenic in Europe.

I don't know what you mean by above. No.100 goes lower/closer to the sea than the railway. The frist times when I did not know better, I took the train. Higher ( Imagine - e.g. Ville-Franche-sur-Mer and farther ) than bus route. Good views happens of course but with lots of hindrance (by trees, tunnels and houses) and your tryin even stops at Monaco station inside a tunnel. Then I found the bus routes with better views and have never taken the train since then, except when I went to Ventimillia.

You must be thinking of other bus routes that go moyenne or haute corniche. Have you taken No.100? I do think you really are mixing up different bus routes.

Correction, bus route is higher there with a BETTER view. From the train you see trees and houses that hide the view of the bay often, not bad but not as good as the view from the bus.

I consider the train line between Nice and Menton to be one of the most scenic in Europe - at least I recall being amazed when it tracks right along the sea - offering a far different view than from a speeding bus high up on a busy highway. Maybe my memory is not good - but the Michelin map shows tracks right along the sea with of course some tunnels. BETTER is in the eye of the beholder and I understand that.
