Can i use my vodafone cell phoce with an SFR SIM card

Hi, Im going to paris next month, and i have a Vodafone Nokia cell that i bought in Spain last year, as i know vodafone owns SFR shares, I was wondering if I can use my Vodafone cell and just buy an SFR pre-paid Sim card..plz help! cant find this answer anywhere...

Is the phone "locked" to the original carrier? If so, you'd need to get it unlocked before a different carrier's SIM will work. Apart from locking concerns, though, a phone that works in one EU country operates on the correct bands for all of europe.
