Hello
I arrive into Istanbul Ataturk Airport at 6:30 AM. I need to catch a flight at 8:20 AM. Can I make it through Customs, Baggage, etc in one hour and a half? Or, should I book the flight that leaves at 2:30 PM? I will have been on an all night flight and am not sure I can sit in the Ataturk airport for six hours waiting for another flight. The cost of a taxi to go into Istanbul is expensive. ($100) I can book a flight from the alternative airport at 10:30 AM but I am warned that a taxi to that airport is expensive too.
Thanks for the help
Can I make a connection at Istanbul Airport?

Why can't you check your bags through to your final destination? That way you won't have to collect them. Immigration takes no time.
If you check your bags through you should be fine with a 2 hour window.
I wil not advise a 1 hour 50 minute window after an all night flight if rthe connecting flight is not with the same airline.
If same airline, IST is easy to connect.
Otherwise, depending on how you feel you have three options to pass your time until the 2:30PM flight:
1. Pay for a CIP lounge pass and crawl on a comfy arm chair and snooze, have free sandwiches, drinks and wi-fi.
2. Take a room at the airport hotel and hope to solve the jet lag problem afterwards.
3. Take a cab to Sultanahmet ($25-30 one way and definitely NOT $100) and visit some of the sites with a nice breakfast or early lunch. If you've seen the sights already, you can even take a 90 minute Turyol Bosphorus cruise from Eminonu and doze off with the fresh Bosphorus breeze, followed by an early kebap lunch at Hamdi restaurant.
A taxi to SAW, the alternative airport would take $100 or maybe slightly more, but you could do it because of the early time of day.
