Can I buy tickets on board sncf/tgv?

Hi all,
My brother just missed the overnight train from Barcelona to Paris, and the website won't let me buy a ticket for the early train tomorrow as there's not enough time to have the ticket delivered.. so my question is whether it's possible to buy a ticket on board, on the day?
Thanks in advance for your help!

No, you cannot purchase a TGV ticket on the train. Technically, you must be holding a ticket at least 5 minutes before the train departs the station. I have heard of people jumping on a TGV and convincing the conductor to sell them a ticket, but I don't know if that's true or not, and if it is, you'd have to have a great command of French to pull it off.

Can't your brother get to the station and buy a ticket tomorrow?

I really hope it's not a full train in the morning.. Yes he'll go to station tomorrow but has to travel up to Figueres (2 hour train ride away) so was checking whether they'd sell him a ticket there and then..
Thanks StCirq!

He can purchase the ticket at any train station, I should think. Also, you can purchase a ticket from the website without specifying that it be delivered. Just follow the instructions saying that you want to buy the ticket now but pick it up at the station in the morning.

Nope, it's too late to buy the tickets online, have tried a million times tonight (cursing all the while, I might add), but will send him to the station in the morning. Thanks again for your help.
