Can anyone suggest a site for a two-day monastic retreat in England or Scotland?
Following some meetings in Cambridge, I have two days free (July 6-8) before returning to London on July 8. I would like to make a retreat at a Roman Catholic monastery at some convenient spot, either in England, or in some part of Scotland which might be directly north along the London-Cambridge railway line.

(Downside is off in the West Country, as I recall).

Any advice?

Hey Scott -

What a great way to spend time in Britain. What you want to do is get your hands on 'The Good Retreat Guide' by Staffort Whiteaker, published (& updated annually) by Rider Books, a Random House subsidiary.

I use it regularly for weekends away and I think you'll like the writeups . . .

Good luck finding your piece of peace!
Have fun.
