Can anyone recommend a not so hot place to travel in June?
Hi! New to this forum and what a great place for information. In education so we are only able to travel in the summer. Any recommendations for a destination not so hot?

Switzerland is wonderful and should not be too hot, particularly in the mountains although the major cities can warm up, e.g., today is mid 80s in Geneva, Lucerne, Basil and Zurich. But, for something really different, how about Iceland? A great place to visit and IMO, summer is the best time. The weather forcast this week in Reykjavik is mostly sunny and in the mid to upper 60s (although in Iceland, on any given day you can experience sun, rain, and even snow/sleet).

HI T,
Welcome to the board.
Scotland, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Salzburg and the Salkammergut region of Austria, Dolomites in Italy, French Alps, the Dordogne region of France are some that come to mind.

I'll put in for Belgium and Amsterdam. Like London, you can get unseasonal June heat waves, but they are not the norm. Personally I would even risk Paris in June.
You can also travel to the Pyrenees, although you would need a car.

Unfortunately weather is always a big guessing game. We just returned from Lithuania where typical daytime highs are in the lower 70s & nightime timps in the 50s. Guess what? We roasted. There was an unusual heat wave and temps were in the mid to upper 80s.
If you are absolutely dead set on lower temps, my suggestion would be to go for mountainous areas.

How about Cape Town in Winter? Cool a bit of rain and sunny days all thrown in. If you are from the USA you get 7.20 rands for each dollar or from Europe you can get 9.16 rands for each Euro a bargain.
