Calanques in July

Jump to last reply

I am traveling around the South of France in early July and my husband and I would like to visit the Calanques. I've read various reports that all sound fantastic, but some questions:

1. We start that day in Marseilles and plan to visit Cassis, which side is better to hike from?
I have heard the hike to En Vau is the nicest, where does that start from and how long/hard is the trek?
2. Are hiking paths closed in early July? Some reports say you have to tour by boat during this season?
3. I have heard that Calanques car parks are notorious for theft, is there a recommended place to leave our car as we will be traveling with all of our stuff changing hotels that night.
4. Is there a hike that can be done in 1.5 hour max, we only have the morning half of the day to spend on this tour?

Many thanks!
