The later you want to leave it, and the more flexibility you want (in terms of time), the more you'll have to pay. Leave it to the last minute and you'll pay top whack (and who knows what will still be available).
Check out the options at www.eurostar.com
it is already too late to get the best fares. As ParrickL says, waiting til the last minute will cost even more . . . If seats are even available on the train you want.
Listen to Patrick. I just checked the Eurostar site to see what is still available for tomorow. All trains are sold out except for the one that departs at 19:04 and the lowest current fare is $226.00 US.
For 28 September there are seats for all ten departure times, but for one of them there are only ten seats left. The lowest fares range from $118.00 to $226.00 US.
If you can, pick a departure time and book now.
meant to add: "I will not know what time I will be leaving. "
Probably best to decide as soon as possible what time you want to leave and book now.
Book now for the semi-flexible option (allows a change of booking, subject to availability). You'll just have to make a best guess as to departure time - presumably book for later than you reasonably think likely, and hope there will be availability on an earlier train if it turns out that you can leave earlier.
I mis-spoke in my previous thread. I accidentally entered today's date instead of tomorrow so, allowing for the time difference, the only departure time that showed up was the last one of the day.
However, the point remains that booking ASAP will get you lowest fare for whatever departure time you choose.
