Hi Folks,
Our first time visiting the UK next week and we wanted to do some outlet mall shopping plus see Oxford on a day trip from London. Just wondering if anyone knows of a direct train or bus service that goes between these Oxford <-> Bicester, and how much in terms of cost and time it will take? Would it be too expensive to take a taxi?
I tried to look it up on the qjump train website but couldn't find anything direct between oxford and bicester north station.
Thanks.

There are two separate railway lines in Bicester. The trains from Oxford go to Bicester Town station and take 26 minutes. You can check schedules on www.bahn.de or www.nationalrail.co.uk. There are no seat reservations and no need to buy tickets in advance for these trains, so just buy a ticket at the station before getting on the train.
To add to GeoffHamer's info - from Bicester town you can take a cab or bus to the outlets. Don't try to take a bus all the way from Oxford - it will take too long for your short time frame.
RoyalJelly,
Was Bicester Village outlet worth it? Did you have trouble getting there?
To yeadonite,
I didn't realize someone actually posted a followup question to this post a year later! Yes, it was quite worth it, considering all the good shops they had. The layout is quite similar to the huge outlet mall that located at Woodbury Commons just outside New York City. Of course the shops at Bicester outlet was different, but you can browse through the store list from their webpage and decide if those stores are worth your while. Certainly prices are less than those in London, and styles were quite good.
As for getting there, it was a piece of cake. From what I can remember, we took a train from Oxford to Bicester, and then the local bus to the outlet. Just ask the bus driver to tell you when to hop off, and it's another short 5 mins walk from the bus stop.
