Bus from Carmona to Seville?

Does anyone know if/how I can get from the Parador in Carmona (some 30min outside Seville) to Seville? Bus, train? We don't want to get a car until later. Thanks so much.

There is no train, so I guess it'll be by bus. In the Parador they'll inform you about everything.

There are frequent buses to Carmona from Sevilla. The bus stop is just outside the city gates near the tourist office. Depending on your luggage situation you may want to grab a cab to the Parador from the bus stop. The Parador is on the other side of Carmona from the bus stop. The Parador in Carmona is incredible. Have a wonderful trip.

Thank you, Josele & Kathy. Do you know, Josele, if I have a good chance of getting my reservations in October? I'm hoping to get my res for Seville, Cordoba, Toledo, Nerja, Granada & Madrid.

Did you mean reservations at the Carmona parador or in general for your other locations?

You can actually register at the Paradors website and see the availability for October. I tried to check for you but the communication with this particular parador is not working at the moment. I'll try again tomorrow and see how October looks for the parador.

In general, I'd say it is not too late to book your hotels but you should probably do it soon - particularly if you have favorites you really want to stay at or smaller hotels. I'm a big procrastinator when it comes to inking an itinerary (unless it's Semana Santa) and am usually rushing 2-3 weeks before my trip to get hotels. I've generally been lucky and have only had to go to my 2nd choices a few times. However, I also tend to visit more off the beaten track places so demand is not as high.

I was able to get back into the Parador site for Carmona and it was working. I didn't have your exact dates but Oct 6, 23, 25 and 26 are totally booked. However, even though a day may be opened the type of room available may be limited. If you really want to stay in Carmona, I'd definately book now.

If the parador isn't available on your dates and your heart isn't set on Carmona, a great alternative is Osuna. Great little village with frequent bus and train connections to Sevilla. There's also a totally incredible 4* hotel with extremely reasonable prices, Hotel Palacio del Marques. It was recently featured on a travel special on Southern Spain on the Fine Living cable channel. I love the parador chain however there are alot of similar boutique hotels opening with the same concept - historical buildings, quality service and reasonable prices. This is definately one of them!

I also recommend Osuna and Palacio del Marqués, former Palace of Marqués de la Gomera. There is train from here to Seville, about 1 hour, And Osuna is a great small city with a lot to see.
But also is Carmona, so I may recommend alternate hotels here: Casa de Carmona, a 5-star hotel in a Palace; and Hotel Alcázar de la Reina.

Thank you Cathy & Josele, And, ouch, Carmona is booked for my days. I will surely try the other suggestions. One problem I see is that I am taking the bus from Faro to Seville & not picking up a car until I leave Seville (Oct 13. So, if I take the regional bus into Seville (like 4 hrs) I don't really think I could stand hooking up with another bus trip that would last an hour. I would have done it for Carmona, but any other place, I don't think so. Please let me know if you have any other ideas. In the meantime, I'll look at the other places you suggested. Cheers! Vick
