Burgundy and Paris Itinerary advice
I am planning a trip to Paris and Burgundy in September and wanted to get some feedback on my plans
Right now i am debating between two options
Option 1
Fly into CDG rent car
Drive to Saulieu for three nights at Bernard Loiseau
Drive to Beaune for two nights at Hotel de Cep
Drop car off in Dijon and take train to Paris for 4 nights
Option 2
Fly into CDG rent car and drive to Troyes for 0ne nigths
Explore Auxerre/Chablis etc as driving down to Saulieu for two nights
Beaune for two nights
Train from Dijon to Paris for 4 nights.
Which do you think is a better option?
Thanks in advance

Option 2.
But go a little past Troyes to St. Florentin and stay at the Grand Chaumiere. Marvelous little family run hotel with an excellent Michelin* restaurant.
I would return to Paris by train from Beaune.

Option 1 with minor change.
If you arrive CDG after a 10-14 hour flight (assumption only), I suggest stay near airport over night.
Reduce Saulieu stay to 2 nights and add it to Beaune - Auxerre and Chablis are nice, but Beaune and Cote de Nuits and Cote de Beaune are better.
As post #2 said, why not drop car off at Beaune and TGV to Paris from there? Unless you want to spend a few hours to do Dijon. Dijon is worth a visit, however brief.
Returned from Auxerre, Beaune etc and other regions of France 2 weeks ago. Have a good trip

Thanks for your responses. Our flight lands at 7:00 am so staying overnight near CDG would waste the day and we arrive on Sun and with Museums closed Monday want to do Paris at the end of the trip.
I am contemplating scrapping Troyes and staying one night in Joigny at La Cote Saint Jacques to reduce the drive time the first day so we can see Auxerre/Chablis on Monday and enjoy the Michelin 3 star...would you recommend this?
Didn't realize the TGV left from Beaune so we will drop car there and head to Paris from there.

To the best of my knowledge, the TGV does not go from Beaune, but Dijon. We usually drop the rental car at the Dijon Gare, and hop on the TGV for the 90 minute ride to Paris. Also, DH and I were in Troyes last year, it was just OK.
