Greetings! Can anyone suggest a modest hotel in Venice that might accept a group of 15-20 college students? The groups I have taken abroad in the past have been well-behaved, and hotels in various cities have invited us to return. So, I'm fairly confident (knock wood) that we won't create a problem and that your favorite budget hotel will not suffer!
That said, I would like to spend no more than about $40-45 per person, with students sharing twins or triples. We will be traveling in May of next year, but I anticipate finding a hotel in Venice to be a bit of a challenge and so am starting early.
All suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks!

You might try some of the convents or hostels.

Istituto S. Giuseppe (on this link) has reviews on Fodor's. I think I've seen reviews here for Caburlotto (same link) too.

Hi
Maybe look at Lido. Here's some suggestions - http://www.youth-hostel.com/Italy/Venice+Lido
I think staying on the Lido would add expense. You would have to take a vaporetto everywhere. It's 7€ ($9.42)each ride. For only two nights and on a budget, I would try to stay in Venice.
