Budget areas in London over weekdays?

I'm staying for 8 days in London in November. I've gotten wise to staying in the City on weekends and have gotten some good rates that way. However, I'm wondering if there are parts of London that are more affordable on the weekdays as opposed to weekends? Is there a particular area I should consider?

Normally I stay at one of the big 4 loyalty chains (Marriott, Hyatt, Hilton, Starwood) for all the loyalty points stuff. But, maybe I should consider other options (Apex, Accor, places like the Hoxton, or even an apartment?) I'm a single person.
