Budapest: who knew that kids are big fan of baths and ballet?!

Dear Fodories!
The city of Budapest was on our short list for quite a while, and it did not disappoint us.

DD1, a teenager, came back with an idea of taking her friends to Budapest for a few days - I believe it is a big compliment coming from her! DD2 loved Thermal baths, Great Synagogue (she kept asking, how come we do not have such a beautiful synagogue near us?), and ... ballet.: we got lucky and saw an amazing performance of "Swan Lake" at Opera house.

Here a promised report of our visit to Budapest.

Thank you for reading!

Travel is a wonderful way for kids to learn about the outside world, and something about themselves. It's great for parents to learn something about their kids too. Thermal baths are usually a big hit with kids. Mine fell in love with, trains, opera, languages, walking, history, museums, geography, architecture, maps and learning.

Hi Matroskin - I just returned from Budapest last night. Will be checking out your trip report via your link when I get a chance.

Travel with kids is even MORE interesting when you ask them in advance what they are interested in doing, too.

Great report, thanks! We travel as a family more often than not, and Budapest is on our list of places to visit. How old are your children?

DD1 -14, DD2 is 8.
They have been spoiled by traveling through quite a few countries for the last 3 years.

I agree with you all: it is more rewarding and interesting to see new places with kids; although, sometimes you just want "adult only" time.

Next trip - Venice and Rome! Can't wait!
