Budapest questions

Jump to last reply

We will be visiting Budapest in early September for about 3 days. I have done a lot of research but have several questions that I need your help with.
1) For the1day pass for all metro lines, that I would purchase from the ticket vending machines how is this pass validated? Also is it valid from the day/time validated until the next day at the same time or is it just for that calendar day regardless of what time that day it is validated?

2) We will be arriving at the train station, so I will need to exchange some money for local currency. I assume there is an exchange booth at the station? (YesI understand it will not be the best rate but I need some currency for a cab to our hotel).

3) We are staying at the Marriott on the Danube, can you tell me how far that would be from the station?

4) if I buy a single use ticket, is it time limited? I understand that one cannot change modes of transportation on a single ticket but are there other restrictions?

5) How to get to the castle from the Marriott using public transportation?

6) I am considering the hop on hop off bus option, but am not sure it is worth it?
