Why not take a taxi?
The official taxi company "Fötaxi" has booths outside the arrivals exits at the official taxi ranks, and the fares are fixed (€21-24, depending where in Budapest your destination is, and you can pay with CC).
Just never ever let any driver approach you in the arrivals hall. They look very "official", but just rip you off.
No other taxi company but Fötaxi is licensed to pick up passengers at the airport.

Yes, Fötaxi can also pick you up at the hotel. Just tell the concierge that you want one of their cars.
The fixed fee does only apply for trips from the airport. Back to airport, the meter will be running, but you should not pay much more or less than on your way into town.
