Brussels - Thalys train question

We are planning to spend 2 nights in Brussels, coming from Amsterdam, then going to Paris afterwards. We already bought our train tickets as follows.

Thalys 9340
16/10/2012
Departure: 11:16 from AMSTERDAM CENTRAA
Arrival: 13:08 at BRUXELLES MIDI

Thalys 9440
18/10/2012
Departure: 13:13 from BRUXELLES MIDI
Arrival: 14:35 at PARIS NORD

I read on the site that if you have a Thalys ticket you can actually get free/discounted transfers within Brussels or even Belgium? The reason I am asking is I'm trying to figure out where to book our hotel. We want to stay near the train station as it would be more convenient. Also, we are planning to spend the day in Bruges on 17/10/2012. Can we really just get a hotel near Brussels Central station and not pay extra? I read that the area around Brussels Midi is not as safe and Brussels Central is also closer to the Grand Place area. Also, would our train ticket to Bruges also be cheaper or free since we have a Thalys ticket?

I just wanted to confirm because our tickets were purchased using Thalys Card and are ticketless reservations. I'm not sure if that makes it invalid as the site says the All Belgian Station fares are not available as ticketless.
