Last September we went to London as the first of 5 European cities. We had lovely weather in every city. You could pack light and only in Paris were we chilly in mid September. In London we only had one morning of overcast skies and a bit of drizzle, nothing much to bother about.
Once in London you can take Ryan Air or Easy Jet wherever you like.
For example, from Baltimore to London I can go RT for $584 all tax/fees included.
Not bad. I'm checking it out now. Maybe the open jaw ticket won't be too much higher.

Yeah but you always have to remember with flights to London there are about $110 in taxes on a return ticket along with another $12 security fee..also I haven't checked the web yet but I would wager weekend flights have a $30 surcharge each way so return fare is somewhat over $500, to me not a great bargain as I'm used to having off peak fares fall to as low as $300 return taxes and fees included...
I suppose airlines hould be required, as one they were, to advertise fares including all taxes....
I'll just say this.... Oil prices are rising... Don't hold your breath for $350 fares especially if one of the biggies finally gives up the ghost... (united, usair?)
Well come October or November when BA and AA and VS with about 13 flights a night between them from JFK to LHR realize they have lots of unsold seats during the slow winter season, let's see how fast the fares come down to push these unsold seats. While $300 return might not occur again, I would wager that at some time during the fall, fares of $325 return will be available from JFK to LHR.
$179 sounds great - but it's only from JFK. I've been watching BA fares for our September trip and the prices haven't changed at all leaving from Detroit. I got all excited when I saw the special - but prices were the same.
The tickler price never includes all the fees, as usual. I priced it for when I wanted to travel, Sept. 5 - 12th and it came to $584 per person all taxes and fees included. That was something like $249 and $224 plus fees. Prices are definitely higher than they've been this time of year in 2003 and 2004. I'm willing to pay a bit more than the off season as I prefer to travel when the weather is moderate. You can pack less and enjoy the outdoors more.
I was very tempted by the Air France anniversary sale, but the first week of September is better for me than November through March. I like the longer days and the sunshine more than the lower price.
