Bravofly is a big Liars!

Extremely DISSATISFIED! Was charged for 5 cancelled tickets and still no refund...
I informed Brawofly about my mother untimely death and ask immidietly to cancelling my family trip to Alanya/Turky with 5 fly tickets that I had bought from Bravofly. Cancelling time was more than 5 weeks before depatrures time.
They agreed to pay me first, but later they refused to give me back my money with some false excuses.
Thay are big liars and real crooks, and everyone should strictly avoid them.

Have no idea what Bravofly is - but if you bought nonrefundable tickets and don;t have trip insurance then I fear you are out of luck. They are under no obligation to refund unless you meet their criteria.

Buying air tickets is a contract - and is enforceable just as is any other contract.

nyt: Behrazad likely won't see your response since he registered to post his complaint. (Fodors must come up high on google searches for Bravofly because we get tons of first timer rants about them)

Perhaps it is due to googling complaints and they find others, so think that's a good idea.

Who knows if this complaint is legitimate are just whining, it depends on the contract and the allowable reasons/timeframe for cancelling. Airlines or travel websotes (Bravofly is like Kayak, etc., I think) do not really have to be "nice" and give you money back because someone died, when you deliberately bought nonrefundable tickets to get a better rate. If people want protection from unusual expenses, they should buy insurance, or pay for a more flexible ticket.

And maybe the false excuses are legitimate, such as no official documentation provided of the death; contract did not allow refunds under any circumstances, etc.

There are tons of complaints on specialized airline travel forums.
All say the same :
Bravofly is a third party site that sells tickets from airlines.
Some people are attracted because tickets seem less expensive than directly booking with the airline.
Then realize when there is a problem that this third party is more of a filter than a travel agent; that the tickets they have are quite often non refundable or...
There is a reason for them to sell cheaper tickets than airlines, but for some people, getting a few bucks on a ticket is irresistible.
Hence the rants.
All finishing with 'everybody should avoid them'.
AFTER they have a problem... but none of these posters checked BEFORE.

Bravofly is an online travel agent and their credentials are good. The only way they can refund money is if they get it back from the airline. Sometimes you can get a refund due to death if the fare rules allow, other times it is discretionary. The refundable airport taxes should be refundable no matter what. Travel insurance might not cover because of the 5 week cancellation, meaning if I cancel my booking today due to a bereavement, does that mean the airline/agent will refund a trip that is due to start 5 weeks from today? I'm not sure about that point.
