I, along with my wife, am planning to go to Bracciano, Italy tomorrow (Sunday ) from Rome as a day trip. Please suggest if it is worthwhile to go there during winters, what are the best things to do there. Are there some markets, shops etc?

I've never been there in winter, but even in summer, there's not much there anyway. Just a picturesque (though not overwhelming) medieval castle, and a sleepy provincial village around it.
Franco, Bracciano is exactly how you described it. And we were there on a January afternoon. Not much but pretty.
