I'm doing a little searching for my son and his GF. They booked 10 nights at the Hotel Andrea Rivoli (out of exasperation and poor luck finding a studio in their price range) for september. There's a mixed bag on reviews which they are aware of.
Im just wondering if there are any other recommendations out there for the price. They must have a nonsmoking room with AC.
Thanks for any suggestions.

I haven't stayed in any of these, but eurocheapo is often a good place to start. They list quite a few hotels in the Marais for that price.

Thanks for the link. I've forwarded it to my son.
Try either of these, not sure of availability, but we stayed at the larger one last year and will stay at the smaller one this year. Great owner, easy to work with. No cleaning fee, deposit = US $ check that he holds on to, cash at arrival, deposit check returned at check out. Tell him I sent you and he will hold it, even before he gets check.

Perhaps there is something on this thread from a few weeks ago.

There was an apartment listed in that price range, but I don't remember the location.
Thank you, kybourbon, that is a great thread!
Deb, I somehow missed your response! Going to take a look now...
This popped up on another thread I was reading today. Their booking calendar seems to be a little screwy so you have to keep fooling around with it. I finally got some Sept. prices to pop up which were 119€ a night. When you get on the reservation page, change the # of travelers and then choose a date (the drop down date box will show available dates in green).

I just wanted to let you know that while they haven't confirmed anything yet, my son has been in contact with several listings as a result of the info here and on the other thread. Hopefully, soon, they will find something more to their liking.
Thanks so much!
Just out of curiosity, why would your son make a 10 night booking at a hotel which he doesn't like and presumably has every intention of cancelling ? Does he realize by doing so, he's perhaps keeping someone else who really does want to stay at that hotel from doing so ?

What a shame to want to spend so much money on a room in Paris when you can spend half that much for a lovely place away from the tourist ghetto.
Kevin, He made the reservation because it was all he could find in this particular area, in his particular price range. It's not a crime to make a reservation, find something better, and then cancel. He's not traveling until September which gives plenty of time for someone else to scoop up this particular gem of a place. Go for it.
Kerouac, they actually found a lovely apartment in a lovely ghetto. They'll be happy and that's all that matters.
