I am looking for a quaint Boutique hotel in Amsterdam near the Rennaisance Marriott in the $150-200 range. I liked the looks of The Seven Bridges but according to their web site you can not book until 4 months before your arrival and I don't want to take the chance of not booking elsewhere and ending up paying a higher price. They also have a disclaimer that if you cancel the reservation, they have the right to charge you for 2 nights. Is this typical of boutique hotels in Amsterdam?

nancy:
We had the good luck to be directed to the Seven Bridges long before it became so popuar (Trip Advisor now rates it #2 amongst all Am'dam hotels)...and we loved it then (1987). I've recommened it to family and friends (most recently to daughter and her husband) and all were very pleased.
I don't know about their policy as you stated above.

I got an e-mail from the owner of Seven Bridges a few weeks ago saying they aren't taking reservations now because it's about to be sold or remodeled. I was inquiring about Aug. 2010.
what a shame....
