I would love to be able to come this time! Will keep my eyes on the arrangements.
Great news, Bob! I went to the first GTG years ago but have been unable to attend since then. Hopefully, this is the year!
You might want to post this in the lounge, too.
I am in Paris right now and have spent time here over the past week and a half with five different people I originally met at Boston get-togethers.
Hope I can make it in October.
Now that I have moved from the Mid-West to the East Coast I would love to attend.
we'd love to see you all
I sent my daughter to the first GTG and I've been to several. Haven't been back to Boston since she graduated in 2007. I'm not familiar with Norwood. Is there public transport from Boston?
I met your daughter, kybourbon, at that GTG! That was our first and only GTG. Hopefully, DH and I will be able to attend this one.
public transport is available to norwood train station, but i don't know the schedule...check the MBTA schedules..
honestly it would not be very good...
the restaurant is quite close to the trains..
bob,
I'm interested. Where in Norwood? I'm familiar with Norwood, and where are you considering?

hotel: marriott residence inn, off rte 1
GTG location: Olivadi Restaurant, near the post office
Your daughter was a brave woman, kybourbon; if I remember correctly she showed up with three friends to protect her in case we were ax murderers.
I drove to that first get-together with Seafox, a man I had never met, the first person I ever met through Fodors, who had stayed at the same apartment I had rented in Paris and noticed after reading the guest book that we lived twenty minutes apart. I figured that would be a lot of trouble to go to if he were an ax murderer, but as I left the house I did tell my daughters never to do this.
We figured if people were too weird (or too boring) we would just leave. We didn't leave, and the people I met that night have become my friends in real life.
hurry to sign up... we are running out of europe seats.. we would hate to turn anyone away!!!
October 6, outside of Boston (my fav). I want to be there!
Please put a scarf at my Europe seat for the time being. I am truly trying to get this going!
I hope that was a joke about running out of Europe seats. It seems I always have something else on the weekend of your Boston GTGs but I'm hoping to make it this year.
There's always "standby". of course, then there's the priority rating.. hmm. where are we on that list?
I hope I can make one sometime!
Linda. Miki and I will look forward to meeting you!
I'm marking my calendar! I haven't been to the Boston GTG but I've attended several in Atlanta, and the one in Santa Fe in 2010. Great memories...would love to add Boston to the mix. I'll check out the post on the Asia board.
"There's always "standby". of course, then there's the priority rating.. hmm. where are we on that list?"
Right at the top.
we welcome everyone
Any solo female interested in sharing a room? I'm not sure f I am going, but it would really be a help .
lincasanova, I'm planning on going to the GTG and it's a possibility I'd want a place to stay closer to the goings-on than where my family lives. (Or put another way, I was thinking I'd stay with my family, but would be willing to change my mind to be less of a drive!) As your plans firm up, let me know.
I'm also a single female planning on attending the Boston GTG and open to sharing a room.
thank you all.. maybe we should get a triple?!!! I do hope to go. But I didn't buy a good offer i saw the other day. I may have to wait closer to the date and see how my mom is actually doing.
ttt
I'm still up in the air if I can go or not, sorry. I will have to wait to see how my mom is doing. I've decided it's too far away to plan.. but I will be following this. Thanks for topping.
