Hi
I am thinking of booking an apartment for 4 days from this company Romeloft.com. Has anyone dealt with this company before? Any feedback will be most welcome.
Thanks!
Kevin

have you looked them up on the slow-travel website? that's where you'll find most reviews of apartments and rental companies.
or just google the company name.
Hi Kevin
Check out this recent Fodors post (which strangely didn't come up when I searched) :
http://www.fodors.com/community/europe/rome-loft-rental-agency.cfm
Double check that it is the same agency you are looking into though!
The last poster on that thread MX3913 posts about a strange experience with a rome loft apartment, which would be enough to encourage me to rent elsewhere.
Goodluck with the search.

Kevin,
in the end i just googled romeloft. THere's not a lot about them out there!
That being said, the comments on that other thread are not altogether fair - it's quite common in Italy to pay in cash when you get there [that applies to hotels and language schools for example]; nor is it unusual to feel as if the owner has only just moved out - they probably have! [that also happens here in Cornwall in the summer when locals move out of their seaside homes to rent them to the tourists and move in with relatives for the duration!]
there are many more agencies - the pack leader is sleep in Italy who have many apartments in Rome - but there are many more. I'd have a look at TA and slow travel, as well as this forum, to find some more apartments in the same area.
many tax cheats scammers I never wire money

If you get a loft prepare for small and many stairs no lift.
Kevin11235 - I've never rented with Romeloft.com; fairly mixed reviews? Recently we had a good experience with sleepinitaly in Rome. For a review of our apt, our experience, and some "apartment-in-Rome" tips, you might look at this article. An apartment is a great option in Rome - Good Luck!

I just booked with sleepinitaly. Everything has bern great so far with one exception. There website states that you can pay the balance three ways; a bank transfer, euro travelers check or cash upon arrival. They failed to mention that this does not apply to all apartments (including mine) so be sure to ask.
On a positive note they discounted our apartmebt by nearly 15euro a night from they quoted website price. I suggest emailing them for rates and availabilities. They will respond promptly.
We are booked with Rome Loft for December. So far we are pleased with their service and response time. It was recommended by a friend and they had a good experience with them. Nothing out of the ordinary for the deposit and balance due in euros upon arrival based on our Paris apartment rental experience. This is our first in Rome.
I'll post after our trip of our overall experience with them.
