Booking a trip to Paris in Feb,2009. Location help!

I just got back from staying in the 1st, looking at a place in the 7th. Really debating if I will like the location. Taking with me 2 friends who have never been. Am I taking them to far out of the center of Paris? In the 7th, we will on Fabert near Invalides. Any insight would be appreciated. Thank you!

That's not far out at all, and a very nice neighborhood to boot.

Fabert is about 3 blocks long..don't know where you are on it, but I am a block from the beginning of it at the La Tour Maubourg metro. You are in a very good area, close to many things and more great restaurants than you could eat in staying for months!! Excellent transportation. It is the area that I stay in and my preferred area. I am here now for amonth stay and do this twice a year....enjoy

Here is a link to the apartment:

I feel responsible for the experience, since I am the only one who has previously been to Paris.

Thanks!

Well, it's about 4 blocks from the hotel I've been staying at in Paris for 20+ years and I can assure you it's a great neighborhood. Easy walk to Les Invalides, Musée de l'Armée, Musée Rodin, and not much farther to the Tour Eiffel. There are great restaurants all over, including quite a big selection on the rue Ste-Dominique. Good antique stores, nice cafés. Good choice.
