Booked Chateau L'Epinay, 25 minutes outside of Angers, France

Jump to last reply

Booked Chateau L'Epinay for 5 nights in last week of June. The chateau is located in St Georges-sur-Loire, 25 minutes from Angers.

We are arriving sunday morning from NY, and plan to go directly to Loire Valley.. Do you recommend we take the train to Angers, and rent the car at the train station; or rent the car from CDG then drive to the chateau? Bad idea driving after an international flght?

It was not easy finding a chateaux that had updated rooms/bathrooms, with a swimming pool and somewhat close to Puy du Fou. For our stay we plan to take leisure bicycle rides, swim, tennis, and maybe a boat ride in the lake, and of course castles. In addition to all this, we would like dining options for lunch and dinner.

Can anyone recommend wine tasting/vineyards, and restaurants in the area? And also day trip itineraries? Thank you for any recommendations.
