Bogus Vacation Apartment Website

http://www.managedcitybaseapt.com/

There's a topic in this regard on TripAdvisor

http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic...de_France.html

I know for a fact that one listing in Paris in particular is fraudulent (stayed in that property last year and know the owner).

Listings are, apparently, copied from various online resources, including reviews.

The ridiculously low rates, badly worded "terms and conditions" and payment terms should make it obvious to anyone that all is too good to be true.

A reminder to anyone considering a vacation rental - never, ever, send funds via Western Union.

Scammers fake web sites and tax cheats are rampant

Craigs List and Vrbo are especially bad

Never wire money always pay with CC

Use only reputable agencies with long track records

parisbestlodge.com good personal experience.

Though for the money betterbidding.com Hotels 4 star

better value... Novotel Les Halles 112 euro hotwire.com

last week for me Marriott Rive Gauche from $90 bidding

priceline.com in the past...also Meriden Etoile from $80

So hotels way cheaper for me as a rule...

Not sure I would second that "always pay with a CC". Some smaller places do not take CCs.

To Quo Vadis:
Evidence, please that Vacation Rentals By Owner is "particularly bad" for "Scammers fake web sites and tax cheats". Without the evidence, you are commiting slander that could be prosecuted.
And if you care to reply, could you respond in English rather than the patois you favour.

We have used VRBO many times and can't imagine what makes you think there are scammers there.

He/she/ot will not respond to your questions - I have asked him/she/it repeatedly to give proof about absurd things he says about rail travel - things I know to be absolutely WRONG but he/she/it never responds.

IMO anything qwovaids says should be taken with GREAT suspicion and not believed. Why he/she/it does this over and over is up to question.

But IME and IMO totally ignore ANYTHING qwovaids says!
