Bodrum, Turkey to Selcuk - Ephesus

Jump to last reply

We are coming from the greece (3 adults) - taking the ferry from Kos island and arriving in Bodrum at 16:30 on May 26 (late afternoon-early evening). We are hoping to get to Selcuk that same evening. Are buses available in the evening and are they direct or is there connections? How long of a trip is it from bodrum to selcuk? Is it easy to figure out? I can't seem to find any bus schedules that tell me how long and the timetables.
Our plan was to take a bus to Selcuk and then 2 days later - we would take a bus to Izmir and fly to istanbul.

Would it be better to rent a car out of bodrum instead? and either return it back to bodrum 2 days later (may 28) and fly to istanbul from there? Or rent a car out of bodrum and return it to Izmir instead? It costs more to do that but maybe it will save time.

Is having a car advisable in the ephesus area?
We haven't booked our plane tickets to istanbul yet until we figure out if they should be booked from Bodrum or Izmir

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
