Bob is back--report to follow !
Fifteen days in Sicily---5 destinations---fabulous May weather. Give me time to recover and I will tell you more. You should see the spring flowers---a real highlight for me. Susan loved the historical dimension of Sicily. Stay tuned.

Hmmm ! Sicily or Portugal--that is tough. How much time will you have and will you be driving? Have you driven in Italy before? Lots of variables, but Sicily is not for inexperienced Euro travelers in my judgment. Another variable is flights. Having to connect via Rome to Sicily can be a hassle.

Hi Bob,
we are visiting Sicily and Malta in Sept/Oct. Did you use public transport at all and if so, how was it? Is it similar to the rest of Italy? We are staying in Siracusa, Taormina and Lipari - flying into Catania.

I, too, have just returned from Sicily. You can read my post about hotels we used.. I am eagerly awaiting your posting to see if your experiences compared with mine. I am sure you loved the place as much as I did.
