In September/October 2012 my wife and I did a six week trip to Europe. This included London, Amsterdam, Paris, Berlin, Istanbul, Athens, Nafplio and some of the Greek Islands (Santorini and Mykonos) as well as Dubrovnik, Mostar, Split and Plitvice Lakes in Croatia.

Nice blog! I've only looked at the entries for Greece so far, but will check out the others as time allows.

Your comments about Superjet from Piraeus to Santorini are very true. Not all Greek ferries run late, though — you can almost set your watch by Blue Star. If you are in a hurry to get to Santorini it's best to fly. If you have the time, Blue Star is a better option than Superjet. I assume you were lucky with the weather for the Superjet voyage, or you would have mentioned that too.
