Bike rental - Aix en Provence area

Hi ... we are planning a several week stay somewhere in the south of France next year. Most likely we will 'anchor' in/around Aix en Provence for 4-6 weeks. I love to cycle and some of our friends who'll visit also cycle.

Are there cycle tour operators that accommodate 1-2 day trips? Even better, are there local shops in the area wherein we could simply rent a bike and gear? I'm thinking about our guests visiting, as they'd visit for a week but would love to ride a day or so while there. Also, if ones have a favorite route in this area (30-50 mile distance), I'd love to see this as well.

Given the length of our stay, I might simply purchase and resell a bike, but our guests would need to rent a bike, gear, et al.

Thanks ... Dorm

Google is your friend.

I found several sites when I googled 'location vélo aix en provence'. No idea what they are worth though.

Have never done this, and never will, but agree that google is your friend. Google location de vélo Aix-en-Provence and should find plenty.

The Aix tourisme website has a page about this stuff, hope you read French. This is it
http://travel.aixenprovencetourism.c...cyclotourisme/

Now some of that is a local club/assn so as a tourist, you aren't going to be able to belong to that. I notice the website listing all rental outlets doesn't work. But here is one they list

https://www.aixpritvelo.com/

it does have an English page. They will organize a trip for you which isn't too bad if you have at least 5 of you (27 euro pp)
https://www.aixpritvelo.com/sorties-trips/

Here's another company I found
http://www.aixenvelo.com/

They will do tours for you for 195 euro per day for your group up to 12 people. Now that isn't so bad if it includes the rental which it appears is 45 euro per day. That company is right in front of the train station.

Give somebody a fish he will eat one day, teach somebody to fish, he will eat all his life.
